Sara “Extra Suave” yerba mate is the lighter version of the Sara Traditional yerba mate. Sara was founded in 1918 and is well respected in the yerba mate world for its smooth flavor. This “Extra Suave” version contains the stems of the yerba mate plant to lessen the kick that you would get from the traditional Sara yerba mate.

This yerba mate is a Uruguayan-style yerba mate known for the finer cut leaves but still contains enough stems for those who want to drink Uruguayan style yerba mate but with a slightly lighter flavor.

Recommend for: Great yerba mate for those looking for a smooth, fine cut yerba mate, with a little less kick to it than the traditional Sara yerba mate

How long will this last me? If you drink one mate per day (about 40g of yerba), 500g of yerba will last you about 12 and a half days and 1000g is about 25 days. My method is to plan for 2 bags of 1kg yerba per month.

How much caffeine is in yerba mate? About 80mg of caffeine per cup however the amount varies based on whether you are drinking using traditional or mate cocido prep methods.

How do I keep the yerba mate fresh?
