Salta Sunset – Hibiscus Lemon Herbal Blend

Salta Sunset is a vibrant, caffeine-free herbal blend designed to round out your daily drinking routine. Enjoy yerba mate in the morning, then reach for Salta Sunset later in the day for bold flavor and a great feeling, without the caffeine.

Primary benefits

  • Caffeine-free – Enjoy any time of day without affecting sleep
  • Cold brew friendly – Ideal for batch brewing and refrigeration
  • Hot or cold compatible – Works as a hot infusion or refreshing cold brew
  • Lasts 2–3 weeks – One bag goes further than typical tea or bottled drinks

Flavor Profile

Deep ruby color from hibiscus with lively citrus notes from lemon peel, softened by gentle floral aromatics from rosebuds. Smooth, refreshing, and clean on the finish.

Caffeine-Free by Design

Salta Sunset contains no caffeine. It’s designed to complement naturally caffeinated yerba mate by giving you a way to keep drinking flavorful infusions throughout the day without overdoing caffeine.

Many people enjoy Salta Sunrise or traditional yerba mate earlier in the day, then switch to Salta Sunset later on for great flavor and a lighter overall feel.

Versatile to Brew

Designed for hot infusions, cold brew, French press, or single-serve steeping. Salta Sunset is especially popular as a cold brew kept in the fridge and poured throughout the day.

This same blend and cold brew recipe is what we serve at Yerba Crew events and pop-ups. It’s been brewed, shared, and enjoyed by thousands of people in our community.

Designed With Our Community

The Salta Sunset artwork was created in collaboration with Romi @roroillustrates, an Argentine artist and Yerba Crew community member. We work directly with real creatives in our community to bring each blend to life, from flavor to illustration.

A Full Day of Drinking

Salta Sunset was created to fit alongside yerba mate, not replace it. Start your day with yerba mate for natural energy, then transition to Salta Sunset for flavor, hydration, and ritual without caffeine.

Together, Salta Sunrise and Salta Sunset offer a simple way to build a full day of drinking around loose-leaf blends instead of bottled beverages.

Yerba Mate FAQs

When does yerba mate expire?
All the yerba we ship has at least 12 months of shelf life before it expires.

How long will a bag of yerba mate last me?
If you drink one mate per day (about 35g of yerba), here’s how long each size will last:

  • 1lb of yerba (450 to 500g): 13-14 days
  • 2lbs of yerba (900-1000g): About 28 days
My personal method? I plan for 2 bags of 1lb yerba per month.

How much caffeine is in yerba mate?
Yerba mate contains approximately 80mg of caffeine per cup, though this can vary depending on how you prepare it. Traditional methods typically yield higher caffeine content compared to mate cocido (tea bag or French press style).

Where should I store yerba mate?
Store your yerba mate in a dark, dry, and cool location, like a kitchen cabinet or pantry.

How do I keep yerba mate fresh?

  • If you're using a Yerba Crew resealable bag, simply close the seal to keep your yerba fresh.
  • If you have a non-resealable bag, store the yerba in a sealable container or use a rubber band to keep it closed.
