Flamenco Winged Tea Infuser

One clean cup, no gourd to set up. Rest the basket on the rim of your mug, add a spoonful of loose leaf, pour hot water, and let it steep. Lift it out and you have a single cup of yerba mate or tea, with nothing to throw away.

Made for a single cup
Sized for one mug. The quick cup at your desk, or a calm one before bed, without pulling out the whole mate setup.

Rests right on the rim
Two flat wings hold it steady on the edge of your cup while it steeps, then lift straight out onto the drip tray.

Great with our Salta blends
Fill it with any loose leaf, from yerba mate to tea. It is a natural fit for our Salta Sunrise hibiscus yerba mate blend and our caffeine-free Salta Sunset herbal blend.

Holds the fine stuff
The mesh is fine enough to hold yerba mate, milled smaller than most teas, and just as happy with a cut herbal blend.

Comes with a drip tray
When the steeping is done, the included tray gives the basket a place to land and keeps your counter dry.

The Flamenco name
Flamenco is the Spanish word for both the bird and the dance. The wings gave it the name.

What can I brew in the infusers?
Any loose leaf. Yerba mate, loose leaf tea, and herbal blends all work, including our own Salta Sunrise hibiscus yerba mate blend and Salta Sunset caffeine-free herbal blend. The mesh is fine enough to hold yerba mate, which is milled smaller than most teas, so grit stays out of your cup.

How much should I use?
Enough to fill the infuser without packing it down tight, so the water can move through the leaf. Each infuser lists its capacity on its own page, and you adjust from there. A little more leaf makes a stronger cup.

How do I care for and clean it?
There is nothing to cure or season, so you can use it from the first brew. After brewing, tip out the spent leaf and rinse it under warm water. A soft brush clears anything caught in the mesh or the perforations. When it needs a deeper clean, it is dishwasher safe.

Is this meant to replace a mate gourd?
No. A gourd and bombilla is the traditional way to drink mate and the best way to share a round with friends. An infuser is for the moments a gourd was not made for, like a quick cup at your desk or a batch you brew ahead. Different job, not a replacement.

Why use a steel infuser instead of teabags?
It is reusable, so there is no paper to throw away after every cup, and it lets you brew loose leaf, including yerba mate, which rarely comes in bags. Fill it, steep, and lift it out.
